Yep,
It’s Official!
You can now pre order the How to Draw book where I break down art and design!
From the publisher:
In this book, professional artist Brett Bean has taken everything he knows about drawing and created an invaluable collection of straightforward tasks, expert advice, and incredible examples of how simple techniques can result in imaginative illustrations. All you need is paper and a pen or pencil to start practising, taking the lead from Brett's clear directions and exercises along the way. Discover the techniques and tools available to you as an artist, from simple lines and shading methods to the effective use of shape, contrast, and negative space. Later in the book, build your confidence in tackling trickier tasks such as drawing perspective, anatomy, and lighting. Every piece of advice is illustrated with cool drawings and presented with Brett’s witty personality, making this the truly fun way to learn to DRAW!
I’m honestly very excited. Not the excited-the-way-you’re-supposed-to-be about new product stuff, but honest excitement. I started making this book in Portugal and it was very daunting process. 30 pages every 3 weeks. It was a year long process during the time moving overseas back to Los Angeles and a full time job in comics.
But I always had problems with so many how to books because they typically boil down to how to draw like them. I wanted something that was thoughtful and tried to pull something out of the artist reading and learning. The book I always wanted as a student. And I always say, if you complain about something, you better have a solution. So this book is that. I really do hope students, my peers, and hobbyists will like it and gleam some knowledge that helps them along their artistic journey.
By preordering, or getting the book when it arrives on shelves in late February, you are supporting this artist as well as 50% of net profits go to charity thanks to 3D total!
Thanks for reading!
